MINI SOIL SURVEYS was established in 1987 to enable cost effective ground investigations to be made for housing projects.

The system was originally invented to look into the causes of subsidence but it soon became apparent to local authorities and other approving bodies such as NHBC that subsidence problems could be eliminated if the ground was properly investigated before construction started.

They now insist on such information.

A MINI SOIL SURVEY investigation is only a small faction of the total cost of a new house but it will eliminate the risk of failure and enable foundation design and costs to be established before work starts.

Most ground investigations reveal good ground at reasonable depth but make sure BEFORE you dig.

Just a few inches deeper or other factors such as ground water, clay shrinkage or chemicals could dramatically affect your budgets.

Foundation design based upon ground information should be the FIRST thing to consider not the last.
